CUSTOMS CLEARANCE SERVICES
We are delighted to be welcoming the IEEE MTT-S 2012 International Microwave Symposium to the Palais des congrès in Montréal over the dates of June 17-22, 2012. IEEE along with MP Associates has obtained special privileges from the Canada Border Services Agency in order to facilitate the entry of goods into Canada for exhibition.
Mendelssohn Event Logistics has been appointed as the “Official Customs Broker” and we look forward to working with you.
The service of a customs brokerage firm is strongly recommended for all shipments originating outside of Canada. As with other countries, there are steps & procedures to be taken to allow exhibit material to flow easily through Canada Customs. Our knowledgeable staff will give you the most “up-to-date” information on how to ship materials into Canada. We will customs clear your exhibit goods into Canada by posting the necessary bonds with Canada Customs. At the close of the event we will generate the appropriate export documentation, bills of lading, and arrange customs clearance for the return to the US or overseas.
The following items are permitted into Canada on a temporary basis:
! Display Booth ! Display Products ! Booth Furniture ! Display Equipment ! Carpet !
The following items, known as souvenirs or giveaways, are admitted into Canada free of duties and taxes, for distribution to the attendees:
! lapel buttons ! t-shirts ! pens ! key chains ! advertising brochures ! similar items !
Please notify Mendelssohn Event Logistics six weeks in advance if you are bringing commercial goods with you on the plane or driving your own vehicle into Canada. This will permit us to supply you with the appropriate customs forms and advise our border offices of your crossing.
Even though some of your items enter Canada without payment of duties & taxes, each shipment must be documented & cleared through Customs on the appropriate entry forms.
